Up up and away!

Holiday birthdays can be good because you automatically get time off work and everyone's already in a festive party mood .... but it's also easy to get overlooked and have your celebration just lumped in with the general festivities.  For instance - THREE of my nephews have birthdays within a week of christmas, how awful is that?  So I always work extra hard to make sure the birthday parts are distinct from the christmas parts - different wrapping paper, different cards, etc.

For my friend Shirley's birthday, right around Thanksgiving, I wanted to make sure her card was different from the season's autumn theme and fall colors.  Shirley is the one who really got me started on Copics, so I also had to color something on her card.  I was thinking about cake and balloons ... and balloons ... and then I found this fabulous stamp set from Just Some Lines at  Perfect!

The girl is colored with W5, R20, R23, G20, BG23, BG10, E00, E50, E53, E34.  The bird with B21, B24, G09, YR04.  And the balloons with Y11, Y15, R32, R35, B12, B14.  They're both applied to the card with thick foam adhesive dots.

The background is a digiscrap paper from NatashaNaSt Designs.  The font is LT Oksana, and the quote "you can't put your feet on the ground until you've touched the sky" is from author Paul Auster.  Some SEI paper for the body of they card, and I used the Martha Stewart corner rounder punch on two of the edges.

Handily, after I made this card I discovered that MyGrafico is having a christmas giveaway competition, wish me luck!

LO with Champagne

Just a quick post to show the LO I made with the champagne bottle I shared with you the other day.  (The bucket and shovel will be coming soon!)  All the shadowing was done with Copics.  It's cut down the center because it's the cover of a 4-page set, using one of C-Line's shutter-fold page protectors, very fun to work with!

I have something really fun for you guys today.  I was working on a New Year's Eve scrapbook page today (from only last New Year's, I'm not too far behind, huh?), but I got distracted with making a champagne element.  I'll share the LO when I finish it, but in the meantime I wanted to share the champagne!

It's my first zipped download so do let me know if you have any issues.  Included you'll find a PNG template, a layered PSD file, and a Funtime WPC cutting file.  I'd love to see what you make with this.
