Happy Hallowe'en!!

Candy candy candy candy candy!!

Okay ... calm down ... deeeeep breath ....

Halloween is about more than candy - there's also the Great Pumpkin, Addam's Family and Munsters marathons, and The Nightmare Before Christmas.  It's a time when adults can dress up in costumes and pretend to be anything we like.  We're allowed to be gothic and unreservedly goofy.  It's practically a religion here in San Francisco.

For DH and me it's the beginning of the holiday season - all of which is serious fun, lots of romance, and quite a few traditions.  Since we're terrible home-bodies Halloween is about a lovely dinner and watching our favorite movie, NBC.  And in honor of the occasion I made him this card:

The background is all digiscrapped with Raspberry Road's fab new Haunted Dreams kit, with the exception of the tree in the window which is from NewLifeDesigns.  All printed on Cryogen White paper.

Sally was drawn by Simply Betty Stamps.  She's colored with Copics:  G20, G24; E09, YR07, YR02, E34; V01, V05, V06, BG 72, BG78, Y32, Y35, Y38.  The cauldron is from Priscilla Styles, also colored with Copics:  C3, C5, C7; E37, E59, E53; Y15, YR04, R08.

I didn't have any thick foam adhesive, so Sally and the cauldron are elevated off the page with a couple of folded paper springs.  All on plain orange cardstock.  Inside is this sentiment:

The font is Burton's Nightmare with a couple of photoshop layer styles and printed on vellum, and "Spell" is spelled out with the new Bones chipboard Thickers.

Entered in the Oh Alice! Halloween in Wonderland challenge and the Simply Betty/Burtonesque Dolls 12th Day of Halloween witch challenge.  Sally's not a traditional crone-warty-pointy-hat type of gal, but with her skill at herbs and potions she is obviously a witch.  (I still regret not buying the Deadly Nightshade canister when we were in Disneyland.)  Also the Incy Wincy Designs Anything Goes challenge.

What spooky fun did you have today?
